Turn Me On by Sylvie Fleury. Launch of the new publication by Pinacoteca Agnelli

Liam Gillick, Rosalind McKever and Niels Olsen discuss the work of Sylvie Fleury on the occasion of the launch of  Turn Me On, the publication of Sylvie Fleury’s show at Pinacoteca Agnelli (27 May 2022 – 15 January 2023). The panel will be introduced by Sarah Cosulich and moderated by Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti, curators of the exhibition. In her 30-year practice, Fleury has confronted the contemporary mechanisms underlying the production of desire and the construction of value, and their interaction with gender politics. The volume reproduces a fashion magazine, a central object in Fleury’s practice both as a cultural fetish and as an instrument for the construction of the self. Designed by RADL and published by Corraini, the magazine explores the main themes of Fleury’s work by inviting international authors specialised in the fields of art history, critical fashion theory and cultural studies to engage with features, essays, fashion spreads and a horoscope. Among the authors: Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti, Mariuccia Casadio, Emanuele Coccia, Guido Costa, Sarah Cosulich, Anna Franceschini, Francesca Granata, Tea Hacic-Vlahovic, Rosalind McKever, Niels Olsen, Jeppe Ugelvig, Dena Yago.

Moderated by: LUCREZIA CALABRÒ VISCONTI (Chief Curator, Pinacoteca Agnelli)

Introduced by: SARA COSULICH (Director, Pinacoteca Agnelli)
